Here’s what I have struggled to understand about anti-lockdown campaigners:

Why is the argument not centered on a call for solutions that enable people to make a living to sustain themselves AND protect them from contracting a very real virus?

Why is the call to open the economy not also calling for creating an economy that is responsive and sensitive to the imminent danger of more people becoming terribly ill, spreading that illness and losing their lives?

Surely, this has to be possible?

The truth is, we are not going to escape the harm of this pandemic without a vaccine. We can all see that.

I can’t agree with “survival of the fittest” logic. We can’t allow this pandemic to run its course without at least trying our best to contain its devastation.

To see components of the economy and not actual human beings will always be unimaginably cruel and further proves the point that the economy is anti-human.

And lastly, the view that says the virus just makes people ill and doesn’t kill them that often makes it okay for people to get the virus is also inhumane. Why is physical suffering okay?
