As an actual gay “sakristan”, I know well how much we can be fetishized. I admit I joke about it sometimes, but beyond that is a real (and painful) struggle of reconciling faith and identity.

I’d actually argue that making a BL series with a “religious” angle would require research on our experiences.

Many LGBT people have felt excluded by the Church, yet some choose to stay, and even less choose to serve, and it begs the question “why”.

There’s more to us than sex.

Kung gagawa ka lang pala ng BL na “daring”, sana walang “sakristan” theme na lang. If this ends up making us look like people who spit at religion, then it does so much more harm than good.

The last thing I want is for others to assume my faith is insincere just because I’m gay.
