Today, 99 years ago the white establishment massacred hundreds of our people in Ntabelanga (Komani). The issue was the land. Our people, under the leadership of Enoch Mgijima refused to be dictated to by them on where and how they should live. #NtabelangaMassacre

Mgijima's church was a problem to a lot of people. The Methodist (Kamastone) and Moravian (Shiloh) had a problem of their congregants leaving them for Mgijima. They too complained to those "in charge".

Mgijima and his people had created a self sustaining community, and didn't need to travel to Komani and use their shillings there. That too was problematic. How dare a black man in the early 1900s create a thriving economic hub for other blacks!

They did not die, but multiplied. We will continue telling their story, the real story. They stood firm for their freedom.and dignity and paid a huge price for it.
