Becoming a citizen in some countries is as easy as living there for a couple of years, but in others, it's almost impossibleđŸ™†đŸ˜łđŸ˜©

Here are 8 of the countries where it's most difficult to become a citizen.
1. QATAR. You would have to be a legal resident for 25 years to be able to apply for citizenship. If you're not a Muslim & can’t speak Arabic language, you shouldn't even bother. The message is clear & simple. We don’t want you to become a part of us. Stay in your country lol😝
2. Vatican City. If you are not a cardinal living in Rome or Vatican City, or a diplomat of the Holy See, you can’t become a citizen. Apart from that, you are also not eligible for citizenship if you are not living in Vatican City as an official or worker of the Catholic Church.
3. Liechtenstein. If you wish to become a citizen, you need to live there for at least 30 years. Alternatively, community residents of your municipality can vote for your citizenship after 10 years of your stay in Liechtenstein. You also need to renounce previous citizenship.
4. Bhutan. To be born a citizen, both your parents must be Bhutanese. If either of your parents is a citizen of Bhutan, you have to live there for 15 years before applying for naturalized citizenship. A foreigner practically got no hope of becoming a citizen 😝
5. UAE. According to Dubai’s Federal Law No. 17 of 1972 on Nationality and Passports, you can apply for citizenship after legally residing there for 30 years or 7 years if an Arab citizen of Omani or Bahraini origin. Don’t even waste your time dear😂
6. Kuwait. You can apply to be granted Kuwaiti citizenship after living there for 20 years (15 for citizens of other Arab countries), but only if you are Muslim by birth or conversion. If you converted, you must have been practicing for 5yrs & must also speak Arabic fluently.
7. Switzerland. You must have lived in the country for 10 years & have a working permit called a C permit. EU, US and Canadian nationals requires 5yrs of continuous residence to become a citizen.
8 China. If you don't have a relative who's a Chinese citizen and lives in China, your chances of becoming a Chinese citizen are slim. While naturalization is possible, it is extremely difficult. Your citizenship can be revoked if you settle overseas & acquire foreign citizenship
Bonus.
9 Nigeria. You’re not eligible to become a citizen even if you’ve lived there for 50yrs. The chances are almost impossible. To become a citizen, you have to either be the President, VP Senator or Governor.
