Norman Mashabane was appointed ambassador to Indonesia. While there, Mashabane went on a rampage of sexual harassment. In 2001 he was charged with 21 counts of sexual harassment.

At a hearing Mashabane was found guilty and removed as Ambassador
But Mashabane had a dear female friend - the 51-year-old Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, then the Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for ambassadors. So he was reinstated. In the interim another charge of sexual harassment was laid against him. Again he was found guilty.
On appeal to our dear Minister, Mashabane was acquitted of all charges against him.
One of the women challenged Minister Dlamini-Zuma's decision in the Pretoria High Court.
The High Court set aside the decision of Mashabane's female Minister friend, the honorable Nkosazana.
The Court went further by ordering the Minister to apologize to the complainant and to pay her legal costs.
(Unfortunately most court proceedings were in camera).
Enter the Minister's next male friend - Mbongeni Ngema, who benefitted a R14 million tender. The Public Protector made an adverse finding that dear NDZ mislead Parliament, so sweet Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma sent her male friend Ngema off as "special advisor" to Limpopo
