Buddha Says that..
न जटाहि न गोत्तेन न.........( श्लोक ११) '
Neither birth is the cause nor gotra is the reason, In which there is truth, the one who is pure ! he is Brahmin.

न ब्राह्नणस्स पहरेय्य नास्स मुञ्चेथ ब्राह्नणो।
धी ब्राह्नणस्य हंतारं ततो धी यस्स मुञ्चति।
-ब्राह्मणवग्गो श्लोक ३
One should not attack Brahmin. And the Brahmin should not anger at the attacker. Those who attack a Brahmin are cursed.

( श्लोक ५)

Whoever does no ill-treatment with body, speech and mind, who is safe in the three Karmapaths, I call him a Brahmin.
