I know a lot of you are getting into streaming because: Duh?

1st of all: welcome.

here& #39;s some advice: (a thread) (1/16)
1. Follow for follow, host for host, sub for sub, blah blah blah doesn& #39;t work. At all. It& #39;s actually all against Twitch TOS, so I suggest you read up on the rules. (2/16)
2. LEARN. YOUR. SOUND. This took me forever to get right, and about 5 different mics, and plenty of hardware. Seriously. Record yourself. Listen to it. Don& #39;t like listening to it? Neither does anyone else. (3/16)
There& #39;s 1,000,000 tutorials to make even the shittiest of mics sound decent. Take some time and learn it. (4/16)
3. JFC, set up your panels, and for the love of the Gods, don& #39;t put "DONATE/TIP" as the first one. I stream for money, so does just about everyone else, but only having a "donate" panel first and front and center is just ugly. Tell us about yourself. (5/16)
Advertise your other socials. Show me pics of your pets. But man... leave the donate one out, or put it at the bottom. (6/16)
4. CREATE CONTENT ON OTHER PLATFORMS. If you& #39;re streaming on platform A, make other (different) content on other platforms and drive it to the platform that you want to focus on. Don& #39;t multi-stream. It& #39;s a waste of time, and (also) against Twitch TOS if you& #39;re an affiliate.(7/16)
5. "networking" isn& #39;t just going into other people& #39;s streams and saying "hey, I stream, too!& #39; It& #39;s about building friendships, and joining communities to build connections. Fake engagement is easy to spot. You& #39;re not sly. I promise. (8/
6. Learn your tools: If you only have a console: learn everything you can do with that tool. Audio, video, chat interaction. Learn it, master it, grow from there. (9/16)
7. Stay the eff off your phone. No one wants to watch you texting your friends, or checking your Facebook. Once you& #39;re live: focus on that. (10/16)
8. SET. A. SCHEDULE. One of the biggest keys to ANY of my success on twitch was having a solid schedule and sticking to it. I don& #39;t now, and I& #39;m paying for it. Set a realistic schedule: keep to it. Advertise it. (11/16)
9. For the love of Gods, don& #39;t stream every damn day. 2-3 times a week: MAX, even if you& #39;re home and quarantined. Take that extra time NOT streaming to check out other streamers in your categories, and LEARN SHIT. Youtube, Reddit, master classes... (12/16)
Just spend that off-stream time LEARNING. (13/16)
10. Play what you love. If you& #39;re playing a game you hate just hoping to get "discovered..." stop. We can see you not enjoying the game. (14/16)
I know most of the people on here won& #39;t care about this thread. That& #39;s fine. But there& #39;s 10 hot tips for ya, in no particular order of importance. Do with it what you will. (15/16)
Bonus tip: Don& #39;t spend money you don& #39;t have hoping to break out. Use what you have, save the money you make, and reinvest it. Don& #39;t go spending $2K just to keep streaming the same boring, no talking, stare at your phone, and maybe play some fortnut with the bois, content. (16/16)
