i wondr how it wld b possibl 2 determine a 'passing age' where teenagers can move on frm consuming media to actually contributing in its creation w/o th unwitting destruction they tend to cause w/o lurking moar (2 put it simply)
wht it takes 4 a teenager 2 b abl 2 communicate in a passive nd nondestructive way with th ppl who make their music, art, games, etc. is a thorough understanding tht they have abt as much power as each other.
assume always tht teenagers are naturally attracted 2 destroying power/"being rebellious" which is good as long as th wool isnt pulled ovr their eyes. cancelling is perhaps popular because it feels like an accessible way 2 take down those with perceived power
rather than th futile sense trying 2 do th same 2 actual oppressors. longing 2 level th playing field is natural but if it is not spiraling "out" to destroy th kingpins at all costs it will only spiral inwards 2 tear down easier targets w a finer nd finer definition f aggression
i wish i knew wht it wld take... theres probably somethn useful 2 learn frm makin urself sparse nd not interactin publicly until u decide ur fed up w it but then agen itll giv u cripplin social anxiety 4realz. i kno coz i did just tht lol
i shy away frm rote teaching bcoz th process needs to be explaind in whole, thru sight and sound. u cant halfass teachin etiquette bcoz it sticks in their heads w/o any sorta basis nd they end up defaulting back 2 "just never commenting" wjenevr they reach a fork in the road
if we knew how 2 break it 2 em then i wldn evn b havin ths discussion w myself ykno. tht same chain f teaching cld b usd 4 all th social good in th world. "mobilizin th lumpenproles" r some shit. bt physical school still exists nd teens r stil systematically wary f all power
wht we got is all thtll work. nd if thts not enuf 2 convince u let me at least say u pickd me up along th way.
yes i guess im talkin abt th same thing every1 else is talkin abt haha. just worry abt what 2do alot abt this type f stuff
