Why/how I think each Haikyuu captain earned their position as captain.
A thread.
CONTAINS SPOILERS BTW!!!

I left out a few teams because I have no real opinion or thoughts on them/don’t like them tbh-

Karasuno -> Daichi
- Bro, do you really think Asahi would be captain?
- And have you see how feral Suga gets during games???
- Daichi was really the only option.
- also he’s well rounded as a player so there’s that too.
- Suga got Vice cause Asahi DIPPED

Karasuno -> Ennoshita
- The series explained it for me tbh
- Tanaka would be a good Vice tho
- Just too feral for a captain tho
- Literally Ennoshita was the only choice

Karasuno -> Tadashi
- think of it this way.
- Kageyama would make everyone practice until midnight
- Hinata is Hinata. Too feral.
- Tsukishima is too mean to everyone (but we love him anyway)
- COACH TBH DIDNT GIVE THEM A CHOICE AND SAID “TADASHI IS CAPTAIN NO OBJECTIONS”

Seijoh -> Oikawa
- He’s the face of the team and has the best abilities.
- he puts the most time and effort into the sport too
- Also Makki and Mattsun would be too feral to be captain
- Iwa would abuse his power to harass Oikawa
- The only safe option for him was to be captain

Nekoma -> Kuroo
- Once again, the only option
- Yaku can’t physically become captain (although I think he would be a great one)
- Kai is too much of a doll to fight for the position, so Vice is a good fit for him.
- leaving Kuro as their leader for better or for worse

Dateko -> Moniwa
- I looked at their third year lineup and just.
- Kamasaki would have best Futakuchi to a pulp if he were captain
- Tbh I don’t remember anything about Sasaya
- Moniwa is team mom and doing his best to keep everyone together
- Mad respect for him

Dateko - Futakuchi
- had to be Futakuchi or Aone cause they have personality
- While Aone would have been the best choice personality wise
- Leaders need to be able to communicate well
- I don’t think Aone can do that
- Considering Aone’s introduction is just pointing at Asahi...

Fukurodani -> Bokuto
- No he didn’t throw a fit to be captain
- He earned it and has the respect of his team
- He’s the ace and the most constant on the team tbh
- I can’t express how perfect he is to be captain in one tweet sorry
- he’s also really emotionally intelligent???

Shiratorizawa -> Ushiwaka
- Japan
- Okay but seriously if he wasn’t captain it would probably be semi or Reon
- He’s calm under pressure and has a genuine love for the game
- would have been hard to pick anyone else to be the captain
- kinda sucks at communication but it’s ok

Johzenji -> Terushima
- I ACTUALLY LIKE HIM AS A CAPTAIN???
- he’s able to match his team’s energy
- he’s the first to admit they’re doing bad
- he’s the first to suggest new things
- I honestly wouldn’t have put anyone else to lead the energetic team

Nohebi -> Daishou
- my hot snake boi
- I LOVE HIM AS A CAPTAIN
- HIS BEST SKILL
- A D A P T A B I L I T Y
- Even Kuroo mentions that Nohebi wasn’t always the team they are now
- It’s cause of Daishou’s leadership that they developed this play style
- Big brain boi

Inarizaki -> Kita
- He keeps the team together tbh
- Another team mom
- He’s still looking out for the twins???
- Even after graduation???
- even if he didn’t want to be captain they would have made him captain

Inarizaki -> Atsumu
- How this happened
- I don’t know
- If it were me I would have put Osamu in this spot
- But I guess I can see Atsumu
- It had to be one of the twins cause they’re the VBC’s pride and joy
- He’s more extroverted than Osamu so that probably was it

Tl;dr, I think all captains are valid and most of them probably got their position because they’re the lesser of the evils/the only sane option
