Getting tired of this whole ‘champion of small business’ rhetoric that National tries to label itself with. As a small business owner for over 20yrs, this Labour led govt has done more for me in the last three years than any other government has.

Just take the following: 1/6
Labour have introduced tax initiatives that make provisional tax easier to budget for and pay. Eradicating the need to predict how well your financial year is going.
They’ve introduced a bill that penalise large corporations that try to pay their creditors late. Remember, under National, when Fonterra started pushing their creditor payments to three months? Not a word from the govt then was there?
During the biggest crises the world has seen in years, our government ensured small businesses had cover for pay. Ensured the IRD would not penalise for late tax payments. Dealt with banks to endure live if credit and offered 0% loans.
As much as National would like to think of themselves as champions of small business, I’ve yet to see any evidence.
