3. If you wish corporate growth, switch to management around 10-12 years of experience

4. If you want to be respected technically, move yourself to a global location (out of India)

5. Listen to advice, analyse facts but do what your heart/mind says
6. Let the decision be yours so that you dont have to blame anyone in future

7. Team spirit is good in books and movies - in real world, every man for himself

8. Don't expect empathy at work place - They are acquintances or at best casual friends
9. Don't expect your juniors to respect you - They don't care (may be generational gap)

10. Visibility takes precedence over technical acumen

11. Failure you stand alone, Success you are mobbed and lost in translation
12. If you wish to share knowledge, do it for the love of it - Don't expect anything in return

13. Learn the power of PDF vs PPT - This one needs to be learnt with a cost

14. Save, invest maximum when you start your career - Will give you a lot of freedom later in life
15. Take EMIs prudently - EMI is a fixed cost - NO ONE guarantees you a job till your EMI completes

16. Do what you REALLY want - Not as a competition to someone on Facebook or Twitter

17. Networking is very important as you progress in career - Invest in relationships
18. Do give a thought to individual intricacies of cultures when you work globally

19. Be polite, Be firm - Learn to say NO when apt (One of the fundamental shortcomings)

20. There's life beyond career - Dont compromise on family for sake of work - You will get hurt
