Here's my peice on matal mogamett and why I think he's such an underrated and underappreciated antagonist for what he embodies in magi's story.
It's important to understand where mogamett came from first.

70 yrs ago magomett lived in the mushtashim kingdom with other magicians,he lived in an old home with his daughter Sana.

During this time magicians were under strict rule of the royal family-
They were forcefully employed and they're social status was still low as people brushed them off as being fortune tellers.

Many worked until they're magoi was drained to the point of death. (this is what caused Sana mother's death)
We get the first clear contrast in ideologies between the current magomett and the young magomett
When Sana asked why magicians are born into the world.

His ideology was formed around the notion that those in power should help those that lack it.

By using magic he believed-
- that he could help improve the world from it's sorry state (sadly it didn't last too long )

After a fight on the battlefield that caused the death of his friends and fellow magicians he was leading,he returned to mushtashim to see a a banquet of royals-
- gorging themselves on food and alcohol doing nothing but, getting fatter while his comrades laid down they're lives for the kingdom.
This is where he began to question himself.

"Is this magic should be used for?"

"is this really the path the rukh had laid" for us?
But, what truly broke him and changed him for the worse was when he overheard those very same royals refer to magicians as a "species".
At this point he began chastise humanity, while using his past experiences and judging them in retrospect.

He came to the conclusion that humans are driven by selfishness and greed.

And for that very reason he views magicians to be the Shepard's while human are cattle.
By having every magician that's currently attending magnostadt to take an ideology reformation class, he actively takes advantage of the youth attending to school, as most of the student body has faced discrimination thanks to being born a magician'-
- he does nothing more then offer them another perspective that views magacians in a more preferable light,
Which leads to the students taking his ideology for themselves because they still lack the experience to form they're own.
Magomett is scarily accurate to real life racists.

He actively oppresses humans in a twisted way,by allowing humans in the 5th corrador to live tax free with free food and shelter, they lack any schedule or motivation to keep them occupied so all they have left to do is-
-have sex and indulge themselves.

Magomett actively uses these people as an example to show the students the true nature of humanity but, to cover up his disdain for all humans he allows a few to live above on the surface as long as they can benefit the people of magnostadt.
Very similar to how the "majority" will take handful of incidents involving the "minority" and use it to paint the entire race as the same.
And by using the term "goi" it allows him to desensitize himself and form a clear wedge of "what is and isn't human"
From the bottom of his heart he truly loves magicians and magic,as he actively helps marga for Titus's sake.

But, why Aladdin cannot view him as a true king.
He encompasses magi's theme of perspective perfectly by not only actively giving his own experiences to the youth but,we as the audience have seen his side of story first hand as well.
He also serves as perfect foil to Aladdin .

While Aladdin is young open minded and actively tries to rely on others.

magomett is old and his ideals are set in stone and actively refuses the help from others.
