This is a long heartfelt post with no politics involved, please if you read it read until the end. I am not sure how many photos I can include in this post but I will try to include the best I have,

Anyone that knows me knows that I love photographing local high sports.
If you know that you know that my favorite sports to photograph is Track and Field. In my opinion it is the one true sport in which a competitor is judged by their performance in the event.
No politicking, no parents complaining to the coach, nothing but sheer desire and effort to be the best at the event(s). I even have scheduled my vacations so that I can attend both the District Championships and the State Championship meets.
Well thanks to the COVID-19 this year there were no outdoor Track and field events, this could have been the first year that I didn't get photos of anything happening at Shippensburg University, which has been the location of the State Track and Field Championships for as long as
I have photographed sports. Well thanks to my lovely wife, Wendy Nashtock, I took a trip this vacation to a few places but this isn't about those other trips, this is about Track. We went to Seth Grove Stadium this morning, around the same time as the 3200m
Finals was scheduled last year. Let me tell you it was quite a difference in that there was absolutely no one there, the stands were empty, no tents on the walkway between the Track and the Field events, no tents set up on the grass opposite the scoreboard side of the field,
NOTHING!! As I photographed some people did show up, I didn't get names but I think one of the coaches from Archbishop Wood was there. I will say that this allowed me to get some photos from a different perspective,
places that I would not be allowed to photograph from, places like the start of the 100m, the discus circle, the start of the runway for the javelin, the shot put circle.
I want to show you how empty the stadium is on the Saturday before Memorial Day, to the best of my memory this is something that hasn't happened in quite a few years.
