Why would Judge Sullivan hire a lawyer to defend his decision not to dismiss ⁦ @GenFlynn⁩ charges after DOJ decided to drop all charges per this WaPo article?

The Circuit Court of Appeals tells him he must. He is going to have a lawyer contend that he does not believe he can dismiss the charges against @GenFlynn because it violates his conscience and his Constitutional duties as a Federal Judge and he will refuse to dismiss the

charges. I know it sounds incredulous but I think he’s using a lawyer so that he can have another legal opinion from a lawyer justify what he’s about to do. His lawyer will attempt to portray Sullivan as standing up against a rogue Trump regime who is colluding with @GenFlynn

to get him off all charges. Sullivan’s lawyer William contend that Sullivan cannot do this. His lawyer will be able to speak to the press and make an argument to the public whereas Sullivan would not be able to. The Dems are attempting to further politicize this dismissal and

turn Sullivan into a “hero of the left” who is standing up to @realDonaldTrump as he attempts to “circumvent” the law and get his friend @GenFlynn out of trouble.

This is why I believe Sullivan hired a lawyer. It’s unprecedented. I also believe he is attempting to delay dismiss

the dismissal of @GenFlynn charges. If Appeals Court says he has to dismiss, I think he will refuse and have his lawyer speak out as to why he is refusing. It will be a showdown. If he refuses he will be asked to step down but he if he refuses to step down, the only recourse

would be to impeach him which could take some time. I think that’s what the Dems are pushing for. They want to continue to politicize this and draw it out.

The DC circuit court of appeals is dominated by Obama and Clinton appointees. Of the three judges presiding over @GenFlynn case one is an Obama appointee, 1 is a Reagan appointee and the other was appointed by @potus. Its not always as simple as just appointing a new judge
