@neiljostyard little and lion is a contemporary about a bisexual girl who moves back from boarding school away from her crush, and starts to fall for someone new
@solacesupremacy the dark wife is a sapphic hades/persephone retelling (tw for sexual assuault)
@sunfeyr the weight of the stars is a story about a girl who loves the stars but is looking for a way to feel closer to earth, and another girl with a faraway astronaut for a mother, looking for a way to feel closer to space
sorry in advance if i recommend something you've already read...
@beckendorfed if you haven't yet read the priory of the orange tree, you should! its a high fantasy about a queen falling in love with her handmaiden, and dragons, and the sea. i feel like it takes effort to get through but is ultimately really beautiful and captivating
@pvrcabeths ok so this is a graphic novel and i feel like you might not read a lot of graphic novels? i definitely don't but i honestly feel like that made me appreciate how beautiful this book is even more. it's a fantastical sapphic space story and one of my favorite books ever
@alghtwd summer of salt is a lovely summery book with some darkness. it's about a girl who lives on an island that draws tourists due to an extremely rare bird, and the magical powers that seem to belong to every member of her family except her
@lilantsov the seven husbands of evelyn hugo! ik its booktwt's favorite but it deserves to be. about a famous 60s actress who marries 7 men over the course of her career but only fell in love once, with a woman
@reneewalkcrs ship of smoke and steel. it's a soc-style fantasy about a mob boss with magic powers who is suddenly kidnapped and forced to adapt to life aboard an enormous boat. she has a bisexual awakening, falls in love, basically takes over the entire boat, etc.
@_lansdegown we are okay is a short, sad, poetic, meaningful novel about a girl's grief after the loss of her grandfather
@dykescatra when we were magic is a book about a group of 6 close friends, whose shared magical powers lead to a terrible accident that they must work together to fix
@andrewsjcsten about a family of women that is cursed to destroy whoever they love - but what will happen when five sisters fall in love with the same girl? the prose and imagery is really beautiful (no main sapphic romance but a lot of sapphicism nonetheless)
@jonathcnsims tbh i'm just recommending this to you because you're a podcast mutual, you might have read it already, but it is one of my favorite books. it's about a girl who befriends the creator of her favorite podcast. there's no actual romance but wlw/mlm solidarity!!!!
@jostencycle this is a coming-of-age story about a girl who moves to an island where girls have been disappearing for years, and the friendships (and romance) she finds there (tw: some violence and gore)
@livlikesbooks coming-of-age story about a bisexual girl during her last year of high school! no central sapphic romance but her sexuality is a major theme in the book
@vlynhugo girls of paper and fire 😏 but ps i also want you to read the one i rec'd ellie. anyways. a girl from the lowest caste in her kingdom is selected to become a concubine for the king, but starts to fall in love with one of the other concubines (tw: sexual assault)
@renreads maybe you've read it but this is a contemporary story about a lesbian girl raised in a very conservative small town, her realizing her sexuality, and being sent to conversion camp. it deals with some heavy topics but is still enjoyable to read (tw a LOT of homophobia)
@cxliastjames kind of going out on a limb here on whether you'd like it but this is a really dark, strange horror novel about a twin boy and girl who move in with their aunt and find that the house is, well, "cursed." no central romance but one of the two main characters is wlw
@pxrkersxciety so this is a really weird apocalypse/contemporary/coming-of-age novel about a girl who essentially realizes she is destined to save the world. there are a lot of strange themes that somehow blend together for a pretty enjoyable read
@aclaremontdiaz we set the dark on fire is about a society in which men take two wives, both of whom are classically educated to be helpful and subservient. the plot takes place when one man's two wives start to fall for each other, and both become involved with the rebellion
@AdxmPxrrish after rukhsana's conservative-minded parents catch her kissing her girlfriend, she faces the prospect of an arranged marriage with a boy she doesn't know (tw: homophobia, violence)
@samrcbarr ok i already rec'd these but i think you should read radio silence or the seven husbands of evelyn hugo because they're some of the best sapphic books ever
@arimxndoza this is a strangely beautiful book that somehow manages to be fantasy, mystery, contemporary, and sci-fi all at once. the book explores four different pathways for the mc's life, each corresponding with a possible decision she could have made at one central point.
@lumiesttriste you've probably already read it but i associate this book with you kind of. it's so beautiful, complex, and extremely sapphic
@goldenpatroclvs wilder girls!! this is kind of a dystopian sapphic horror story with found family. an all-girls boarding school and its students starts to be affected by a plague that has overrun the island where the school is located (tw: violence, gore)
@pipedreqm you know what screw it im giving you hotdog girl. basically, a girl works at an amusement park as a hotdog. it's almost more middle grade but the story has a sense of summer adventure and escape that i think you'd enjoy, and the romance is unexpected and really cute.
@clarykanej afterworlds is a book within a book, it shows teen author darcy patels journey alternated with chapters of the actual book she is having published. this book has received mixed reviews for inaccurate portrayal of the publishing world but i still thought it was fun
@neiIsjcsten ok so i haven't read this one yet, but the coming-of-age family history ocean gentleness vibes remind me of you. and i want to read it very much
@vansunshne this is coming-of-age, about a girl coming to terms with her sexuality. i find a.s. king's writing to be kind of depressing but accurate to the teenage experience, and it's definitely a meaningful story
@ARlQUlNTANA i haven't read this one yet :( but from what i've heard its a beautiful romantic fantasy set in a really intriguing, well-developed world
ok i'm not gonna do anymore because my sapphic book knowledge has been stretched to the breaking point xoxo 😌 but please let me know if you read any of these thanks 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩
