I love the idea of my favorite movie of all time being about car issues. That's so on brand for me.

Like, rescuing a princess and saving a galaxy? Okay. Sure. Sounds grand. Can't relate tho. Car troubles? Relatable AF. I feel for Han in EMPIRE.

He's tired, cold and has debts to pay. And then he finds himself in a slasher movie, being chased by Space Michael Myers. While his hunk of junk "car" keeps breaking down. I love EMPIRE.

And Luke is like, "Fuck your rendezvous. I'm off to learn the Secrets of the Universe." And doesn't learn shit. Not really. The brat. And then he gets his arm cut off by Space Michael Myers. And then Space Michael Myers says, "I brought you into this world...I can take you out!"

Luke is physically, mentally, and spiritually bitch slapped. While poor Han, who just wanted to get the fuck off cold-ass Hoth and pay his debts to society, is tortured by Space Michael Myers. And then shipped off to a disgusting space slug encased in Carbonite.

And here's the tragic part: Han could avoided all of this pain and suffering if it wasn't for his broken down jalopy of a space "car." Relatable AF. I love EMPIRE.

Everybody fucks up in this movie. They can't do anything right. Not really. Everything goes wrong. Our heroes are beaten down. Vader stomps a mud hole in their asses...and then walks it dry. But yet, our brave heroes still haven't given up hope. They're still standing.

They're survivors. Live to fight another day. I think ultimately that's why I love THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and why it's my favorite movie of all time. It's about a ragtag group of underdogs, who fuck up, make mistakes. Get beaten down. BUT...they get right back up.

They STILL have hope at the end. Because they know...they're going to win at the end. Because their cause is just, and right. Lessons to aspire to, me thinks.

Anyway, I may or may not have written this thread high AF. Maybe I'm just high on The Force?
