Since I’ve been listening to almost exclusively Wu-Tang Clan since the RZA and Preemo battle, I wanted to highlight each of the 10 members and what I like most about them.

A thread:
RZA is the core of everything. His beats are just as important as the raps that were spit over them. It’s insane he produced 95% of an arguable 6 classics. Many, many classic beats, and is underrated as a lyricist. He has some of my favorite verses on any Wu projects
GZA is almost always my go-to favorite of the group. His unique voice and his genius on the mic is unparalleled. Has the best solo discography besides Ghost, and would definitely be #1 if he dropped more. Was the king of dropping the shortest verse but still being the best
Ol’ Dirty Bastard was one of the most unique rappers ever. His eccentric and wild style always grabbed attention on every track. While his lyrics might not have been as elite as the other members, his hilarious inflections and bars made him the most memorable part of most tracks
Method Man has one of the smoothest flows and voices in all of hip hop. He raps like he has water in his mouth which is the only way I can explain it. His naturally catchy voice made for many great hooks as well as verses. Hilarious personality as well
Inspectah Deck is the most underrated member of the whole group, and had an elite run of verses and features. If his album never was lost in a flood, we’d consider him alongside Ghost, Rae, and GZA for best member. This man knew how to open a verse and a song.
U-God is also underrated, and his guttural voice stood out on every track he was on. You knew it was him whenever he rapped, and while he wasn’t one of the top lyricists, he made every verse he spit stand out. Was also likely an unfortunate recipient of the flood on his solo work
Masta Killa would go right along with Deck as most underrated. The very first rhyme he wrote and spit is one of the absolute best of any Wu member ever. His work on features and Wu Tang Forever was some of the best, and he had a slower flow that made him stand out from the others
Raekwon has one the greatest solo albums ever, and his work outside of that is also great. Had and absolute lethal flow, and blended extremely well with Ghost. Had some of the best contributions to 36 Chambers, and is even capable of dropping a modern classic with the right beats
Ghostface Killah had one of the best primes ever between 1993 and 2000. One of the best discographies ever, and in my top 5 all time. He’s the best lyricist in Wu, and dropped enough amazing verses for 3 lifetimes. Is also capable of dropping something insane in modern times
Even though he joined later, Cappadonna deserves his spot in Wu. Like U-God, his deeper voice stood out on every track, and his contributions to OB4CL, Ironman, and Wu Forever are enough for my respect. Winter Warz is a top 5 Wu verse ever.
