I’m often accused of being a workaholic (not a compliment). Today I told myself I would relax & take it easy bc it’s Sat and only work for a bit. By the end of this “relaxing” day everything I could have done felt like a chore except data analysis and I felt too guilty to do that
I walked my dogs, finished the next draft of a manuscript/sent it out for feedback, went to the vet and took doods to the dog park, made lunch, cleaned up house, read an entire book + an R chapter, played video games, ate some more, walked the Doods again, and it still wasn’t 9pm
Tasia has to come remind me that it’s ok to work if I enjoy it. That I shouldn’t fill my day with random (but fun) things because working on a Saturday is the worst thing I can do. I enjoyed my Saturday but this was the slowest time has gone for me since the pandemic started!
Anyway, moral of the story: ain’t no one size fits all. Do what feels good. Kindness to your body doesn’t always mean no work. And yes you can be sometimes bored by self-care! 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
