December 1999 the infamous NY club shooting took place. With Puff Daddy and Jennifer Lopez in tow, Shyne fired his weapon in self-defense against a would-be assailant. 2 people were shot during the incident, eventually leading to Shyne being sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. .

In 2008, Loon would be implicated by associates and subsequently arrested for possession with the intent to distribute heroin. While out on bond, he would unsuccessfully attempt to seek asylum in another country. He is currently serving a 14-year sentence. . .
