hi everyone! since may is mental health awareness month, i thought i would describe what it’s like to live with anxiety, and how you can help those around you who have it!
IMPORTANT NOTE:anxiety and being nervous are different! please do not say you have anxiety when in reality +
you’re just nervous! it can be damaging to the community!
for me, anxiety is like this one weight in my stomach that’s constantly there, 24/7, and it never goes away. when i’m in certain situations, the weight can either grow or shrink, depending on what’s happening. for example, today, i was shopping with my grandmother, who is a +
trigger for me. when i was with her, the feeling of the weight in my stomach grew tremendously, and i had to take a break and sit down for awhile, without anyone around, till i could calm down a little. it’s important to note that not everyone experiences anxiety in the same way+
as i do!
how can you help others with anxiety?
if you see someone having a panic attack, please DO NOT grab them in any way, as they can see this as you trying to “attack” them in a certain way, and can be very dangerous! instead, try to help them sit down or get them to a safe+
environment that they feel comfortable in!
especially in times like these, it’s important that we all help eachother and support and love everyone in every way! thank you for reading <3
