I just did a "no discourse" digital shabbat with @AdiraSlattery, which included no twitter allowed, and it went really good! I definitely needed this and will absolutely be repeating it in the future. The rules were:
1. No Twitter at all.
2. Only "safe" parts of reddit about benign things like plants and cute animals. No stressful subreddits about drama or tough topics.

3. Avoid anything that discusses media in anything more than "gosh this is so nice!" ways. No discourse or deep critical analysis.
4. No TV/movies/comics/books etc about above stressful things either.

5. No discord servers or channels with the above. No vent channels or complaining channels.
6. Promote good vibes.
For anyone not familiar with shabbat, we did it from sunset yesterday til sunset today.

For both of us, breaking the cycle of "I& #39;m bored" or "I just finished something else" -> "open Twitter" was really tough. But holy shit this has already done wonders for mindfully engaging with the internet and media, instead of just doing it by default.
