Since May 8th, USA virus deaths have had a daily high of 1,871 and a low of 750, with most days in the range of 1,300. That is a remarkably low level of dispersion for a country this large with ever-changing levels of lockdown.

every normal day in the USA about 8,000 people die of all causes. Of those 8,000, according to Stanford, 20% of them die in nursing homes. That means that about 1,600 Americans die every day in nursing homes. don’t have good statistics on the actual age of those who are dying, especially on a daily basis. If we did, we might be able to test a theory that PART (NOT all!) of what is keeping our death rate high is that now many nursing home deaths are simply being called COVID deaths 3/3
