some people are so conditioned to consume entertainment media that is status quo but provides them with enough hooks that they can project their political opinions onto it that they act all betrayed when something they were consuming as a product is actually for something

people keep asking about what the democrats could have done, and well, they could have not spent decades capitulating to republicans constantly, they could have prioritized healthcare and raising minimum wage at any of the many points they'd been in power for the past 30+ years

they also could have postponed primaries in the multiple states where they made people go vote after the pandemic started, and they could have nominated someone with a chance of getting elected for the presidency if they wanted to help with recovery

they also could have prioritized fixing environmental racism, since that's been a huge contributor to making sure that the overwhelming majority of people dying are bipoc

outside of policy, they could have provided some leadership during the pandemic and helped guide the response, but instead biden continued being a fucking gaffe factory and rapist and pelosi showed off her ice cream fridge and made a fat joke

maybe they could have spent some of that war crime money on a PPE stockpile
