My husband & I are in Boston & both “essential workers” (I’m ICU, he is ER).When Covid19 ramped up, we made it a point to think about things not normally in our armamentarium of parenting. Shared w/ a colleague in CA recently, & wanted to share here too https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⬇️" title="Downwards arrow" aria-label="Emoji: Downwards arrow">

Discussed:
-keeping kids with us (exposing kids + exposing multiple nannies & their families) vs. taking to live with grandparents (2wk quarantine, safe distance until then, able to devote more time to patients & cover other coworkers’ sick call)
Also discussed:
-ALL possible iterations of us being hospitalized: one or the other, same hospital or different ones, ICU & sedated vs on floor. And what each scenario meant for the others’ work flow, childcare, & healthcare proxy’s
-Found copies of our will & POA.
-Made an extra form (“information sheet”) for our families that included: where to find impt files, life ins policies, ins cards, storage info, names of point of contact at hosp to discuss our illness with bosses
Extra form also included: passwords to phones, all login info, bank & savings accts, tax consultant, 529plans, disability ins, retirement acct. As well as asking for them to save video of me singing to kids at night & funeral arrangements & what to do with life ins policies
We left this “info sheet” @ the inside of front door to our apt, so that in the event it were needed they would only be inside for a second & not more exposed looking for it inside.

We’ll keep this for the foreseeable future.Would love to hear suggestions of others in same boat.
