If you closely notice what’s happening here - the Reliance Smart business that sits under Reliance Retail is being used for procurement etc and the digital front end is that of Jio that sits under #JioPlatforms.
Important to note here that Reliance Smart is the supermarket store arm of Reliance Retail whereas Reliance Fresh is the neighbourhood store arm of Reliance Retail.
Long term what we may well see is the ability to order via WhatsApp and ultimately close for the transaction in the same window.
But before that, @reliancejio must close the gap in last mile delivery. That can be a deal breaker for many if not most.

In our recent report we had highlighted Jio’s plans to collect all user data under a single #JioID.

Assuming #JioMart (esrtwhile http://RelianceSmart.in ) is at some stage sold to #JioPlatforms which it should be, it will give latter access to former’s 125 Mn users data.
Assuming 20% of these users (25 million) overlap with Jio’s user base, in effect Jio will have data from its own users (300 Mn+) and from Reliance Smart (100 Mn+) which gives it the ability to cross-sell and up-sell sevices to a fresh set of customers both ways.
What may be very interesting to note is the structure of Reliance Retail companies esp Reliance Smart & Reliance Fresh once their services are offered via JioMart and a buyout is organised to JioPlatforms. The possibilities ahead are two-fold:

- A buyout / merger / sale of Reliance Smart and or Reliance Fresh, Reliance Retail companies, to Jio Platforms

- A change in structure to organise for asset sales of either Reliance Smart and or Reliance Fresh
Another angle to look at is the importance of #JioID here:

1/ We at @Greyhound_R expect the combined user base of Jio & JioMart to be at apprx 400 Mn users.

2/ This can be leveraged to cross-sell and upsell from across categories under #JioPrime - https://www.jio.com/jio-prime 
Essentially with #JioMart what you are looking at is an equally strong alternative to @amazonIN that doesn’t have to its advantage ability to rope in fresh customers by way of offering cheap data plans. Unless of course, @Amazon & @Airtel_Presence strike a partnership of sorts!
Sorry, a small correction there : #AmazonPrime is already being offered by @airtelindia but what I meant was a partnership that is deeper than what it is currently, and taps into the combined subscriber network and Ad sales along with other possibilities of monetisation.
Reg the estimate of 400 Mn combined users, this is on the conservative side.

On the more optimistic outlook, the combined user base can well cross 450 Mn.
