For all the new Pepperdine Basketball fans, we are going to break down how we got to where we are now:
Head Coach @WilDiSabatino took the job on June 6th, 2006. Athletic Director @RobertT6197 immediately recognized Wil's charisma and passion as head coach of the local AAU team "Can't Be Forced."
He brought on Lead Assistant and Head Scout @__jaygomes from his AAU program, along with retaining former Assistant Coach Luiza Videnov. With some extra money @RobertT6197 suspiciously found in the athletics budget, Wil added recruiting hotshot @Luke_Layden as a grad assistant.
With a strong staff in place, the Waves overexceeded expectations. Coach DiSabatino won over the locker room and pushed his players to new heights. Sophomores Ryann Mascoll and Dominik Armstrong were two consistent forces that propelled the Waves to 3rd in @WCChoops
Despite a disappointing second round loss in the conference tournament, the Waves managed to get the win they so desperately needed - 5-star center Dominique Kirkland committed to play for Coach DiSabatino in Malibu.
With a solid incoming recruiting class led by Dominique Kirkland, the expectations are high for Coach DiSabatino in Year 2. The Waves have jumped out to an early 5-4 record, with a signature win at #24 Arizona 84-73.
On the recruiting trail, Pepperdine already got a commitment in the early signing period. 6'10 Center @Nick_Prainito will be rocking the orange and blue. Here is what recruiting expert Jay Gomes had to say about Nick's game ->
