Ok I’m going to put this out there, and I hope you can be kind when you respond.

I like book Jamie and Claire. I think they both have some big flaws and have made some bad mistakes, but that seems realistic to me.

Book Jamie is a man of his time. He does things that I completely disagree with and things that I like. Sometimes DG comes through too heavily but most of the time I love him, warts and all.

I love being inside Book Claire’s mind. She has so many of the same insecurities and misconceptions about the world around her as I do, and I think reading them in someone else makes me more aware of them in myself.

Sam and Caitríona have done an incredible job of bringing them to life, and the show has done a great job of changing some of the worse storylines in the series. I love both of their characters, and I’d say it’s in a different way than I love the book characters.

Everybody can think what they want, obviously! And the people saying the book characters are better.. that’s dumb. You can do more in a book. They are just different.

Anyway, I wrote all that just to say if you like the book characters that’s okay. You can like a character and not support everything they do just like you can like a person and not support everything they do.
