A story about why I'm angry about Dominic Cummings:

So, episode two of the Dominic Cummings revelations in The Observer and Sunday Mirror sees him revisiting the North East and going for a stroll by the river in Barnard Castle on Easter Sunday
/thread
I go back to Barney maybe once a year. It's not far from where I live now. It's where we went on family holidays in the 70s on a Blackpool or Morecambe-bound Primrose coach from the back of the Mile End Club. It wasn't far really from where I lived then,
50 miles maybe, but it was away and these are some of my fondest childhood memories. We stayed on a caravan site on the opposite bank of the river, a pleasant stroll from the town. The first newspaper I ever bought with my own money was probably the Teesdale Mercury
, to try to find out what was on and where to go. According to the story Cummings and his family were there on Easter Sunday. I wanted to go on Easter Sunday because my mam had died the day before, in a care home, from Covid
- one of the care homes the government would later claim they had thrown "a protective ring" around. But I couldn't go because we had to stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives. But it is reported that Cummings was there, 260 miles from home, under lockdown, on a family walk.
I am so fucking angry that I'm not even going to use asterisks. Fucking bastard scheming lying fucking bunch of inadequate nonenties and hypocrites every one of whom went out to defend him today. Thanks. Sorry.
