Every once in a while I see idiotic comments like this from actual fake fans who think MJ should be aligned with Stalin and Mao (no, this person literally posted a pic of that earlier. Vile). Do you know what my response to this would be if I was Jamon? https://twitter.com/jamonbull/status/1264314048964771843
If I was MJ Cast, every time a clown accusatorially said I want to make money I’d confidently reply: “You’re right, I want to make money from my labour. Do you work for free? Me either.” Think about something...
With all the time Jamon and the others spend creating content for you- interviews with people who will not always be here and you’re lucky to hear from NOW- and resources spent on MJ projects to share with fans, they could instead be making a lot more money at their usual jobs.
I’ve said since 2017 I’d never monetize PIN. I think it’s gross to make $ from *that* topic. What’s also gross are the entitled pissants who think lounging around tweeting at trolls all day deserves the same rewards as someone who works to put out actual entertainment content.
If I spent the time and went through what Jamon, Q, E, etc have done to create MJ Cast and got an accusatory comment about how I wanted money I’d say yeah, I think $20 for a shirt is fair. If you don’t, don’t buy one. Then I’d tell you to go F yourself because...
The MJ Cast is the only entity on the planet that is bearing and carrying the legacy of Michael Jackson’s life and art into the future. That’s a hell of a burden. The Estate sure as hell isnt! I wouldn’t want to carry that burden and lowlifes dogging on them wouldn’t know how to.
So go ahead, crank up another episode of the MJ Cast, enjoy listening to never before heard stories that enrich your understanding of your hero, be free to get cool products from the store, and then pretend like the work that went into it doesn’t deserve any compensation. Clowns.
