Etsy can suck a lot, but they're not evil.
Don't click the offsite ads if you ever see them, please. It really fucks creators over, especially those that make over 10k a year and therefore rely on it for our income.

Ironically, by shitting on Etsy you're discouraging people to buy from people with Etsy shops so thanks for that :\\
And they don't force you to ship for free, but they do bury you in searches. Either raise your prices and ship for free, or accept that you won't show in searches.

Every shop has drawbacks. Shopify, where everyone is saying they're moving to, has no marketplace at all. I'd rather be buried in searches than not even have the option.
Their fees are high, but they're better than the 3 other shops I've used by a country mile.

Their shipping is cheaper NOW after postage hikes than when I used Storenvy and used their integrated system. They're even cheaper than PayPal's shipping system (not by a lot but a little).
I'd also rather charge shipping than charge an extra 3$ PER PRODUCT effectively making people buying multiple products pay multiple shipping. That's lame.
