“I think by now all of us know that masks do no good.”
—John MacArthur
What a reckless thing for a shepherd charged with caring for his sheep to say from the pulpit. It's inaccurate on multiple levels and burdens the conscience of those who feel differently.

This quote is from the video Grace Community Church posted announcing that they are resuming services tomorrow. While it wasn't a sermon, MacArthur was standing in the pulpit as he spoke.
There was no need for a lazy and sweeping claim like this in the announcement. And by delivering it with the weight of his office of pastor, he steals authority from God to endorse his own (non-expert) opinion.
all (really? every single person? no exceptions?) of us (who's 'us'? every believer? every member of his church? everyone who is privy to the truth, i.e. not actually 'all'?) know (with 100% certainty? how?)
and we aren't even to the thing "all of us" are supposed to know *sigh*

there's no grace for those of differing convictions within the community in this statement from the pastor of grace community church
