People have this whole argument that “white people face racism too.”
What drives me crazy is their examples are always the Italian, Jewish and Ukrainian people.
The difference is that no Ukranian person fears for their life when they’re pulled over by a cop TODAY.

With POC it’s ongoing fear and violence. And also I don’t think many people know what oppression actually is. Being called names is not oppression. Being denied jobs and education, pulled over for the colour of your skin and beaten because of how you look is opression.

Also there are intersections of opression. Because I’m a woman I’ve known opression, but because I’m white my experience with it was GREATLY softened. WOC face the highest rates of violence and discrimination because their opression intersects on being a woman and a POC.

It drives me nuts because this was all stuff I learned in my first year of university. And frankly it’s all information that’s free on the internet.
