Here are my top 10 favorite J. Cole songs of all time! Remember, these are my personal favorites, not his best songs. J. Cole is my favorite artist of all time and his music means so much to me, so let's start the list!!!
10. No Role Modelz

To start this list off is the song that made me a fan of J. Cole’s music. Such an addicting song to listen to. Easily one of the best beats he’s ever rapped over. This song brings back such great memories.
9. Crunch Time

One of his most underrated songs that I never see people talking about. Its pretty much is about people going through hard times. The song has a very chill laid back vibe to it that I love.
8. Farewell

Another underrated Cole track. An amazing way to close out my favorite mixtape of all time. The first verse is centred around Cole asking the world how it will remember him after he passes, while the 2nd verse brings it back to his “younger days”.
7. Lost Ones

Cole in his storytelling bag! The song is the conversation between a man and his pregnant girlfriend. He raps from both perspectives and there’s a lot of emotion in this track.
6. Apparently

Easily one of J. Cole’s more emotional tracks. The first verse is directed towards his mother in which he both apologizes for his mistakes, as well as tells her how much he appreciates her. I personally enjoy Cole’s singing a lot.
5. Before I’m Gone

Production on this track is incredible! Loud and powerful piano chords combined with a beautiful choir in the background. Cole covers a lot of important topics on this track
4. Change

Amazing jazz rap song. Although not technically a feature (I’m not sure why), Ari Lennox’s background vocals are so beautiful. The chorus is something I think about all the time, which is the fact that “the only real change comes from inside”
3. 2Face

Friday Night Lights was Cole at his hungriest, and you can hear it in his voice. As much as I love Cole’s current music, his production choices and rapping style were truly special back in his mixtape days, and this song is a prime example of it.
2. Love Yourz

Love Yourz has some of Cole's most powerful lines ever. No rap song has impacted me as much as this very song. Verse 2 is one of the most relatable verses I’ve ever listened to and it's helped me through so much.
1. 4 Your Eyez Only

4 Your Eyez Only is a storytelling masterpiece. Cole raps from both the perspective of his departed friend, as well as from his own. I teared up the first time I listened to this song. It’s my favorite rap song ever and it gives me goosebumps to this day.
