The fact that Muslims in one part of the world are endowed with 30-day Ramadan and others got 29-day Ramadan in other part of the world manifests how secularism is taken charge and playing havoc with purely religious matters. https://twitter.com/fawadchaudhry/status/1264255519126097920
Can @fawadchaudhry explain with references from Holy Quran & Hadith of Muhammad (PBUH) the reason why it were 30 fasting days in Arab world and 29 days in Pakistan? Has Nature discriminated against us in granting one extra Ramadan fast to Muslims in Arab world or next door, Iran?
If lack of scientific evidence of moon sighting in Pakistan was the reason for not commencing Ramadan with Arab world, then it may promote provincialism, for certain provincial govt(s) may reject federal govt's decision on the same pretext of no scientific moon sighting evidence.
Having no qualification of either science or religion, @fawadchaudhry is best in poking nose in everything. Basically a lawyer-turned-pseudo-intellectual, he poses as a scientist, religious expert, and a politician - but actually is merely a LOTA.
Our Ulemas too failed the nation massively. Neither did they explain the spirit of Islamic teachings vis-a-vis moon-sighting nor they resisted unqualified seculars to take the driver's seat in purely religious matters.
There should be absolutely no doubt that Almighty views the planet earth as one, single entity, therefore, Nature does not change its rules just because mankind has divided itself in communities, boundaries, democracies and monarchies.
The Khilafat-e-Rashida (RA) - the ultimate Islamic system of governance - also worked on the same pattern as Nature i.e. there is no concept of boundaries as Islamic Caliph rules the Muslim-dominated territories across continents.
Reut-e-Hilal Committee, which traditionally followed govt's line and always gave moon sighting verdicts at the behest of govt, so in essence, there's hardly any difference between this religious body and @fawadchaudhry's science.
However, it's existence can still be justified because it is, at least, fulfilling a cardinal principle of Islam with regard to taking the decision on the basis of eye-witnesses of moon sighting rather than scientific evidence.
But, absolutely no room for @fawadchaudhry's science to interfere in matters of religion. He must stop poking nose in religious affairs, and do something in his own jurisdiction than flaunting his greatest achievement of moon sighting in advance - a phenomenon known to everyone.
