When I was younger, I used to ask my Uncle for tech gifts for my birthday. I remember asking for an iPhone 4S and he gave me a watch. I wasn’t too pleased but I’m not an entitled person.

He instead gave me books & lots of advice. I never really saw the value in those then but I’m glad he didn’t give me those things now. Giving me books was the equivalent of him teaching me how to fish instead of giving me fish.

I’m so thankful to my uncle for making me love reading books when I was younger. I wish I started earlier but nonetheless, I started. This year alone, I’ve read 26 books and some over and over.

I will never forget the advice he gave me. He said; “Fisayo, no matter how bad it gets, never be idle”. This is now my modus operandi.
