I know this is going to upset some of my brothers, but after two years of studying Revelation, translating every sentence, looking at every Old Testament allusion that pours into it, and paying close attention to the structure, flow, and thrust of the book, and paying careful
2/ attention to exegesis, and taking into account this distinctly Jewish genre, I have concluded that amillennialism is nearly impossible from this book. One has to impose an outside theology on this book. Historic premillennialism is the most faithful approach to this book. I
3/ understand, one cannot make an argument like this on Twitter. After all, I’ve already typed 500 pages singlespaced on this book, and I’ve read over 5000 pages of exegetical commentary from all persuasions. So a thread isn’t going to convince anybody. It takes years to go
4/ through all the arguments. So I’m not actually making an argument here. I am just stating my conclusion. Tomorrow I preach Revelation 20. So that’s where this thread is coming from. Have a good day.
