Today I am angry. And the worst thing is that there is nothing I can do apart from write.

The only solace I can take is that The Mirror and The Guardian exist & persist.

It is so humiliating & demoralising to be a citizen in this country.
Widespread political apathy was the greatest gift this government could have been given. They’ve ridden the wave of a post-truth era, compounded by electoral fatigue, Brexit & Trump.

And the worst part? They’ll be fine after this.

I am angry, but for the first time, hopeless.
Since both Jenny Harries and Grant Shapps were so adamant today that we apply Common Sense to the situation, I’ve done exactly that.

How can words written in 1775 feel more relevant & accurate than the absolute horse shit coming out of Shapps’ mouth today?
I’ve written and written and written tonight. I’m truly rattled. I need to go to sleep before I cry, knowing I’ll wake up to the next story and this’ll all be forgotten in a matter of days.

To all the journos: please don’t stop asking questions until something changes.
