Here's a little "Lobster Tale" on how Twitter helped make a connection to support a 🇨🇦 business during the times of COVID-19 and deliver some delicious PEI lobsters all the way to our table in British Columbia 🦞
In 2011, I was in Charlottetown for work - we were doing a press tour to promote the CFL's Touchdown Atlantic game. We ate lunch at @LobsterOTW and met the wonderful @jeremymacfadyen. He was running the restaurant's social media. We've kept in touch via Twitter all these years.
Then this exchange happened last week on Twitter...
I chatted with my family and we wanted to support and amazing Canadian small business, so we placed an order with Jeremy and planned a lobster feast here in Vancouver.

The lobsters were shipped overnight and arrived at our front door on Thursday!
The lobsters arrived cooked and packed on ice, but we had never prepared lobsters before, so after watching a couple of YouTube videos, we got to work.
With all the rushing around and filling everything second of the day, it was nice to sit back and slowly deconstruct a dozen lobsters and prepare dinner.

There was something therapeutic about taking the time to extract every ounce of meat from the claws, tail, and body.
This was also a good educational experience for our kids, who got to participate in dissecting the lobsters.
This was more than just a dinner... it was an experience!

We were able to enjoy fresh PEI Lobster while supporting a Canadian small business run by quality people like @jeremymacfadyen 🇨🇦

And it helped build connection, which is truly missing during these times of COVID-19.
We also discovered that the leftover meat makes for tasty lobster rolls the next day.

We warmed up some Brioche bread, melted some butter and put these little gems together.
If you'd like to order from @LobsterOTW and enjoy a taste of Canada, while supporting a lovely small business, here are the details:

UPDATE: I got my dates wrong for when I first met @jeremymacfadyen 😬

It was actually July 2013 when @RashelHariri and I were representing ING DIRECT’s community team on the Five Hole For Food tour and we played a road hockey game in Charlottetown.
