draws money 4 moonsightThe Ruet-e-Hilal committee has been the source of controversies since its beginning and Masjid Qasim Khan challenging the write of Ruet committee for long. The Ruel e Hilal committee despite working under MORA, doesn't have any constituted TORs, 2/n

without outdated modalities of seeing the moon with eyes or 'telescope' only available to few places, the Ruet undermines any scientific knowledge hitherto available for moonsighting. Many have come forward to assist MORA over the years but to no avail. 3/n

Despite the 46 years of its formation, no constitution is drafted, the current chief of Ruet Committee is in effect for more than the last 20 years which is in violation of Ministerial rule of 'chairmanship of 3 years.' the efforts of drafting the constitution have failed. 4/n

it's high time that this hegemonized culture scores of zonal, regional, national Ruet-e-Hilal committees be disbanded for a task that a simple technician from the Ministry of Science should be able to do. #DisbandRueteHilalCommittee 5/n

There's no representation of women, nor allowed because the committee is structured in a way that no new members are allowed to ascend let alone women. in 2015, it was desired that more religious clerics be admitted to committee so to get further represent. hence more expenses. 6
