A thread with @thearsreview on the key areas Arsenal struggled under Unai Emery which Mikel Arteta is already showing real signs of addressing.
Defensive balance: Arsenal always looked vulnerable defensively under Emery, conceding 51 goals last season. With Arteta, we play more as a team - with every player contributing off the ball and covering for each other positionally. A 'non negotiable' as Arteta calls it.
A key example is Aubameyang covering for Saka at left back. This work ethic has been transmitted to the rest of the squad and is a key reason why Arsenal have kept 7 clean sheets in the 13 matches they've played in all competitions so far in 2020.
Building a philosophy: "I want us to be a chameleon team, able to play in possession, in static attack against close opponents, or to counter-attack", Emery once said.

This approach meant Arsenal focused almost exclusively on the opposition and lacked an identity.
Win, loss or tie, Arteta has stuck to the 4-2-3-1 in his 15 games so far and is implementing a philosophy Arsenal can build on. Pragmatism works in the short term, but Arteta is here for a long term project, which is reflected in his persistence.
Man management: Arteta isn’t afraid to drop a big name as evidenced when Lacazette was removed. He also won’t tolerate ill discipline, leaving Guendouzi out of the squad. Everyone needs to work hard in training and his squad selections are based on this.
The Spaniard also played a starring role in players negotiating a voluntary pay cut amid the Coronavirus pandemic, according to The Athletic. Arsenal became the first Premier League side to take such action.
Communication: There is more to communication than just knowing the language.

Arteta has been praised by several squad members regarding his ‘clarity’ on exactly what needs to be done. Under Emery, it was clear that in certain games the players were confused.
Togetherness: Shkodran Mustafi made the point that each and every single one of Arsenal’s players are in line with the manager’s thinking saying ‘this is something that is difficult to achieve’, it truly is.
Arteta has also brought the fanbase together to a large extent. He commands respect from fans due to his 5-year spell at the club as a player and captain. It is also his first job so we don't really have a stick to beat him with.

When everyone is united, magic happens.
End of thread.

If there is one thing about Arteta you've been impressed with the most, what is it?
