1/ Quick thread:

#feminity and #WalkingDead

these are just #notes, and not anything solid

I have some #Masks masks my MIL made--she's very crafty and talented.
2/ She's given some to us, and I've bought some from her on her #Etsy site

And they are, honestly -- adorable. If anything from the #apocalypse can be adorable.

Pirate skulls, polka dots, pink, floral, etc. with little crocheted button hooks
3/ my ears are tiny, and earbuds and mask hooks don't stay on my ears, so the little button hooks are perfect
4/ and I had an imaginary conversation with other women I know -- "hey, Kelly, your mask is so cute!" "I know! My MIL made it! I just love it!' and #cuteness #culture abounds
5/ and it dawned on me not once, NOT ONCE, in the years I've been watching #WalkingDead have I heard two women have a conversation about something gendered or what we might call feminine. And it seemed kind of odd to me.
6/ for example, when the woman who cleaned out the stock room did a beautiful job of organizing it, why didn't anyone say, "Hey, Susan (or whatever her name was), your work at the Quarter Master is really wonderful!"
7/ Or, "Gee, Carol, the way you crafted your weapons are both artistic, creative, and deadly!"
8/ Adult women know and cherish their other women friends. I LOVE my women friends with all my heart. And I know that through this, they've kept me sane, stronger, and able to support myself and others, and give love and support back to them.
9/ perhaps, just perhaps, we can share and support one another with love and #femalefriendship
10/ and tell Alpha her shaved head looks practical

Women rule #WalkingDead and I just want to see more love and friendship in their words to each other
