I'm so tired of the "real men [blank]" sayings. like the shirt that I saw an ad for on Facebook: "real men cuddle cats." especially when it's an activity generally seen as feminine. "real men bake" "real men wear pink" "real men spend time with their children"
and then there's the opposite, meant to convey how very extra manly, they are: "real men drive trucks" "real men carry a gun" "real men go fishing" it's almost as if it doesn't matter what a man does, he's still real.
are you a human being who identifies as a man? congrats, you're a real man. that's it.
I guess what I'm saying is, none of that necessarily makes you a *good* man, and maybe that's where the focus should be.
