One refreshing aspect of D-2 is the absence of content about *us*. There are no implicit callouts to army I can find. There is no pandering to his own fanbase for an emotional response like 'my fans are my reason for x.' It's all just his world, his way, his heart.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing when artists do this but I've noticed bts music relies so heavily on this artist-fan relationship for themes lately. I love it but I'm also receptive to different ideas and concepts for lyrics and music which the mixtapes tend to offer more of.
It's like fuck yes we get to just hear about YOONGI and we get a break from the intensity of army-bts lovefesting
