A long but much needed thread on Priyanka Chopra: the actress.

After winning Miss World 2000 she debuted in a Tamil movie in 2002. With in the next 2-3 years she had moved to the Hindi film industry and had been casted in iconic movies as Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz, Waqt and etc.

Priyanka Chopra won two filmfare right; best female debut for Andaaz and best performance in a negative role for Aitraaz.

From the end of 2005- 2006 she did multiple movies that did ok business at the box office. But then she landed herself in two big franchises: Krrish and Don. Both movies were a hit at the box office and established her as a successful commercial actress.

In 2008 the movie "Fashion" released and changed her career for the better.
Fashion become one of the highest grossing female centric movie at the time. It won numerous awards. Priyanka Chopra won her first best actress Filmfare award and the prestigious National Award for it.

From 2008 - 2010 she added movies like Dostana - an iconic blockbuster, Kaminey, Whats your Rashee? - where she played 12 different roles and Anjaana Anjaani - a cute love story to her filmography and solidified herself as a successful name in the industry.

In 2011 Priyanka Chopra's "7 Khoon Maaf" released where she played the character Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes to perfection. She won Filmfare's best actress critics award and screen award for best actress that year.
Her deception of the character was widely praised.

From end of 2011-2012 she starred as the lead actress in the hit "Don 2", "Agneepath"- 4th highest grossing movie of 2012 and the cute rom-com "Teri Meri Kahaani".
She also won two awards for her portrayal of Roma, the bada*s agent in Don 2.

Later in 2012 Priyanka Chopra starred in the hit movie, Barfi, that swept awards across country and become one of the most awarded movies in Hindi cinema. Her portrayal of Jhilmil - an autistic woman in love won her praises from audiences, critics and got her numerous awards.

In 2013 Priyanka Chopra lended her voice to movies like Planes and Girl Rising. She also had couple of cameo appearances in movies such as Bombay Talkies.

The same year she also made a appearance in "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" in the iconic hit song Ram Chahe Leela.

In 2014 she had two releases, Gunday and Mary Kom, and both were declared hits at the box office. Mary Kom was a female centric movie that she held on her shoulders and it made 100 cr worldwide.

In 2015 Dil Dhadakne Do & Bajirao Mastani came out and the movies went on to be super successful. They also had iconic characters. Both Ayesha and Kashibai created a strong resonances with the audience. Lastly, Priyanka won her fifth Filmfare as Best Supporting Actress for BM.

Despite being a supporting character Priyanka Chopra walked away with maximum applause from the critics and audience. This scene is an example of how she did not just play Kashi she became her for the role

End of 2015 Priyanka started shooting for Quantico. It become the first show to have a South Asian as the lead. It had 3 seasons, she became one of highest paid TV actress in the world and made her first South Asian to be on the covers of major intentional magazines.
