Black people need to approach funerals differently

Most of the funeral money is wasted feeding the people who come sleep over, better yet, move in for two weeks

On top of that, come funeral day, there needs to be at the very least, a cow to feed everyone that rocks up

A tent is key to qualifying as, "ebemkhulu umgcwabo ka bani"

That's more money spent on the tent and chair hire, and the mobile fridge

The family that was already struggling to make ends meet, is now faced with a bill, they have to make this funeral, "respectable", umgcwabo funeka abenesidima

Most of the funeral cover money is spent trying to make the ceremony look good in the eyes of, "abantu"

Attended a white funeral once, and all we had was sandwiches and champagne

Yes, champagne to celebrate the life of the deceased

The ceremony lasted all of an hour and it was over

No cow, no tent, no catering, no sheep the next day yomemulo, just sandwiches and champagne, which I'm sure was optional

Family is left with whatever is left of the funeral cover
