Fake Claim #16

HEAVEN/SKY IS SUPPORTED BY PILLARS

Honestly, I don't know from where do they get this pillars from? but they sure love it dearly to be using it first for Earth then Sky

Let's see this bizarre allegation cause this time they didn't quote verses but left it for me
There are hundreds of verses in Vedas which calls out sky as unsupported. Let’s glance at few of such verses for the sake of our hater.

Rigveda 2.15.2 calls Heaven as unsupported and all the translations which are known to me agrees unanimously with it.

Translation of Rigveda 2.15.2 by Griffith:

""High heaven unsupported in space he stablished: he filled the two worlds and the air’s mid-region. Earth he upheld, and gave it wide expansion. These things did Indra in the Soma’s rapture.""

Translation Rigveda 2.15.2 by Wilson:

"Who fixed the heaven in unsupported (space), and filled the spacious firmament, and heaven, and earth, (with light): he it is who has upheld and has made the earth renowned: in the exhilaration of the Soma, Indra has done these (deeds)"

Translation of Rigveda 2.15.2 by Shri Ram Sharma:

Shri Ram Sharma translated the verse in best way possible. Most of the translators used the word ‘unsupported‘ but ShriRam Sharma used the word ‘without pillars‘.

I called it the best translation because the Sanskrit word ‘अवंश’ used in the verse means “that which has no pillars“. And the basis of my claim is Monier Williams Sanskrit-English dictionary:

So we can apparently understand, Rigveda 2.15.2 says “sky is without any pillar“.

Even Rigveda 5.32.10 calls sky as self sustaining

Translation of Rigveda 5.32.10 by Pandit Trivedi: (Image2)

It calls Heaven/Sky as Self Sustaining which means Vedic Sages knew that it is without any pillar/support

Trnsl Rigveda 5.32.10 by Wilson:

"The divine, self-sustaining (heaven) comes to him; the moving (earth), like a loving (wife), resigns herself to Indra: when he shares all his vigour with these (his people), then, in due succession, men offer reverence to the potent Indra"

Further, even Rigveda 4.56.3 denotes Heaven as unsupported.

So even Rigveda 4.56.3 calls Heaven as unsupported and most of the translators agreed to it.

Translation of Rigveda 4.56.3 by Griffith:

""Sure in the worlds he was a skilful Craftsman, he who produced these Twain the Earth and Heaven. Wise, with his power he brought both realms, together spacious and deep, well-fashioned, unsupported""

Yajurveda 17.19 says that God created Earth and Heaven without any external support (like of pillar).

Yajurveda, Taittiriya Sanhita 4.5.4.2 calls atmosphere (Heaven) as unsupported.

To sum up, I have provided 5 verses from Rigveda, Yajurveda and Taittiriya Sanhita which all calls Heaven/Sky as unsupported or without any pillar. And all the translators agree to it.

LOL it seems my thread has reached to the other side of twitter cause just when I was about to conclude this thread I got
few verses marked by them in DM

Even an idiot can tell by now that there is no pillar & that's why you didn't reply on TL but DM

But ok wait up & see
