I think it would be nice if there were more boats again. We should have more boats 🙂
we’ve just killed international passenger air travel *and* cruise ships, both of which were horrible for the environment, so there’s never going to be a better time to build new sustainable options and a passenger ship isn’t *inherently* a 30 story tall fuel oil dumping machine

six to eight is normal now but that’s also with stopping in tourist ports instead of just booking it trying to get a blue riband
given the choice I’d rather take a leisurely week looking at the sea than trying to work out how to make one of those ultralight solar powered endurance planes carry a few hundred people
bunch of people gonna get even madder at me for this but we could also bring back airships, which have maybe 10% of the emissions of a jet already
anyway intercontinental travel is coming back because I don’t think you can unring that bell, the only question is whether we continue to do it in a way that kills all of us
