Told that Baseball is going to agree to some type of financial agreement this week. It will reach its conclusion. The only barrier in play will be when players test positive, which will happen before regular season even starts. They have the right idea not to go overboard.
All teams will play in their home stadiums, no crowds, except the Toronto Blue Jays who will play at their new ST complex in Dunedin. I don’t know if you get a complete season but MLB is at least going to get out there & try.
The players union told players like Snell to shut their mouths & realized how bad it looked to the public, and how it hampered the end goal. Notice how quiet players were last week? They were asked to stop speaking against stuff through media.
As always stuff is fluid, but this is what I was told by a gratuitous gentleman, and it’s the The truth , the whole truth, And nothing but the truth.
Again, the true measuring stick is going to be how baseball reacts to the media firestorm of how they handle multiple positive tests. They need to be headstrong that you can’t let agendas like that dictate your business, their policy in place will be sound, and the players safe
Sports are at the realization with this that they can either press on, or let it end them entirely. Like most companies that will survive, they’re going to just have to grind through it. There isn’t an alternative.
