I think that there is a misunderstanding of Western Rite Catholics who primary go to or transfer to, Eastern Rites. It seems that they get accused of looking for something more ‘mystical’ or ‘spiritual’ in Eastern decorum, the way secularists look towards Hinduism and Buddhism.-
-But I suspect it’s generally quite the opposite. They are probably, mostly. driven to the Eastern Rites by a desire for something concrete and solid, like a mountain. The Western Rite has started to change with the politics of the Vatican, for better or worse.-
-Even Traditionalists want change and a political coup of the Vatican. They see the Eastern Rites as austere and above all that. Of course it isn’t perfectly true. There are changes in the Eastern liturgy, but I think it’s wrong to accuse them of chasing a spiritual fad,-
-when in fact they are trying their best to run in the opposite direction of spiritual fads.
