This is all a huge mess, but my heart especially goes out to people who obeyed the guidelines, and didn't see dying loved ones, and now feel like maybe they should have bent the rules too.
There's going to be a long hangover of grief from coronavirus, and the personal & cultural effects of people having been kept away from people that they love in their dying moments, not having been allowed to attend funerals, or to comfort or receive comfort from other mourners.
But imagine having gone through all of that, even though part of your brain told you it would probably be okay, because you wanted to obey the rules and not put anyone in any danger, and now feel the guilt that maybe you should have just bent the rules after all.
